A new chapter of the Avatar universe begins today, with Avatar: Seven Havens officially arriving on Paramount+. The new 2D-animated series follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar after Korra. This time, however, the Avatar is not welcomed as the world’s saviour. Following a cataclysmic event, Pavi is forced to run from both human and spirit enemies in a world that believes the Avatar was responsible for its destruction.
Avatar: Seven Havens will eventually consist of 26 half-hour episodes split across two books of 13 episodes each. Book 1 is being released throughout October rather than dropping all at once, with the first three episodes available from today and new episodes arriving in batches every Friday.

When Do New Avatar: Seven Havens Episodes Come Out?
The full Book 1 release schedule is:
9 October: Episodes 1–3
16 October: Episodes 4–6
23 October: Episodes 7–9
30 October: Episodes 10–13
That means Book 1 will be complete by the end of October, with 13 episodes in total. A second book of another 13 episodes is also planned, taking the full series order to 26 episodes.
What Is Avatar: Seven Havens About?
Set after The Legend of Korra, the series follows Pavi as she learns she is the new Avatar in a world that looks very different from the one Aang and Korra knew. The Seven Havens are the last strongholds of civilisation, and Pavi must try to save them before they collapse.

She is joined by Geet, a cat monkey voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, along with her Airbender mentor and friend Jae and a mysterious long-lost twin. Pavi’s connection to her twin is also one of the new ideas introduced in the series, with the story set to explore her origins alongside her role as the Avatar.
Original Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko return as co-creators and executive producers. Ethan Spaulding also serves as executive producer, with Sehaj Sethi as co-executive producer.

For CultureCues, we love the Avatar universe, so we’re happy to have a completely new Avatar story to get stuck into. Pavi’s story already feels quite different from Aang and Korra’s, especially with the Avatar being seen as a threat rather than a hero. We’re also keen to find out more about the long-lost twin storyline and what that means for Pavi. With new episodes arriving every Friday throughout October, we’ll definitely be following this one each week… Let the bending begin.
The first three episodes of Avatar: Seven Havens are streaming now on Paramount+.
