The Split Up continues tonight on BBC One, with only two episodes left to find out what happens to Aria, Neal and the rest of the Kishan family. Episode 5 airs tonight, Sunday 4 October, at 9pm, before the sixth and final episode follows tomorrow night at the same time. All six episodes are also available now on BBC iPlayer, so anyone who cannot wait for the finale can already watch ahead.
From the makers of The Split, the new drama follows Kishan Law, a British South Asian family law firm representing some of Manchester’s wealthiest clients. At the centre is Aria Kishan, played by Ritu Arya, who had been preparing to take over the family business from her father Dhruv, played by Sanjeev Bhaskar.
Six months after the death of Aria’s mother Raina, those plans are no longer quite so straightforward. Dhruv has started questioning whether Aria should take on the responsibility alone, and her fiancé Neal has emerged as another option to help lead the firm. Their relationship is already under pressure, though, and the return of Aria’s former flame Luke has complicated things even further.
What Has Happened in The Split Up So Far?
Episode 1 introduced Aria as she prepared for her future at Kishan Law and her upcoming marriage to Neal, only for Luke to arrive back in her life. His return immediately brought some old feelings back to the surface and gave Aria another complication she really did not need.

Things became more difficult in Episode 2 when Dhruv made a surprise announcement about the future of the firm. The Kishan family were already dealing with the grief of losing Raina, and questions around the business began bringing other long-held issues closer to the surface.
By Episode 3, Aria was taking risks of her own to protect Kishan Law. An awards ceremony also brought another major discovery when she uncovered a secret involving Dhruv, with his relationship with Zoya becoming harder to ignore.

Episode 4 pushed Aria and Luke even closer during a countryside trip, with their chemistry finally reaching the point where it could no longer simply be brushed aside. Aria also learned the truth Dhruv had been keeping from her, and Maya was left devastated after a betrayal from Michael… That leaves plenty unresolved heading into tonight.
When Is The Split Up Episode 5 on BBC One?
Episode 5 airs tonight, Sunday 4 October, at 9pm on BBC One. Aria will be dealing with the emotional fallout from Dhruv’s secret alongside the weight of her own decisions. With the wedding getting closer and her feelings for Luke still hanging over everything, there is not exactly much time left for her to work out what she actually wants.
The finale then airs tomorrow, Monday 5 October, at 9pm. Aria and Neal’s wedding day finally arrives, but whether Aria actually makes it down the aisle is another question. The Kishans will also be adjusting to their new family dynamic, with Michael making one final plea to Maya.

All six episodes are already available on BBC iPlayer for anyone who wants to watch ahead. It is also useful tonight if you are following ITV’s The Blame, which airs at 9pm too, so there is no need to choose between them. One live, one on catch-up. Problem solved.
For CultureCues, we’re very ready to see how this one ends. Aria has a lot to sort out in only two episodes, from the future of Kishan Law to her relationship with Neal and everything still sitting unresolved with Luke. Throw in the family secrets that have already come out and a wedding tomorrow night, and we doubt the Kishans are heading for a quiet ending. Here comes the drama.
The Split Up Episode 5 airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One. All six episodes are available on BBC iPlayer.
