Vacation mode is officially back on. Netflix has confirmed that The Four Seasons Season 3 is now in production, bringing Tina Fey, Will Forte, Colman Domingo and the rest of the friend group back together for another year of trips. The comedy, created by Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, was renewed earlier this year and will once again follow the group across four seasons and four new locations. Netflix announced the start of filming on 23 September, although a release date has not yet been confirmed.
Who Is Returning for The Four Seasons Season 3?
Tina Fey will return as Kate alongside Will Forte as Jack, Colman Domingo as Danny, Kerri Kenney-Silver as Anne, Marco Calvani as Claude and Erika Henningsen as Ginny.
Netflix has not revealed much more about the new season yet, including where each of the four trips will take place. Fisher has, however, confirmed that viewers can expect another four seasons and four locations as the group heads off on their next set of holidays. Season 2 also left a few questions hanging over the characters, including what comes next for Danny and Claude and whether Anne’s surprise encounter with neighbour Gianpiero (David Tennant) could develop into something more.
Netflix announced the start of production on Instagram, sharing a new cast photo alongside the caption: “Vacation mode: ON. THE FOUR SEASONS: SEASON 3 is officially in production!”
What Could Happen in Season 3?
The cast already have a few ideas of their own. Calvani has said he would like Season 3 to introduce Danny and Claude’s often-mentioned group of gay friends, while Domingo joked about taking the straight members of the group along on one of their holidays. Fey has also confirmed that Ginny remains part of the friendship group following Season 2, while the actual destinations for the new episodes are still being kept under wraps.
When Will The Four Seasons Season 3 Be Released?
Netflix has not announced a release date for Season 3. With filming only now getting underway, fans will have to wait a little longer before the next holiday itinerary is revealed. Both previous seasons are available to stream on Netflix in the meantime.
For CultureCues, we are very happy to see this group getting their passports back out again. The Four Seasons is one of those shows that can make us laugh and cry in the same episode, and so much of that comes from the friendship between the group. We are already looking forward to seeing where the four new trips take them, what comes next after that Season 2 finale and, if we are lucky, maybe even another Steve Carell appearance in a flashback.
