Slow Horses Season 6 is officially underway on Apple TV, with Gary Oldman back as Jackson Lamb and Episode 1 now available to stream. The new season premiered on Wednesday, 16 September and once again contains six episodes. Rather than releasing the complete season at once, Apple is sticking with a weekly schedule, with one new episode arriving every Wednesday through to the finale in October.

Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 2 arrives on Apple TV on Wednesday, 23 September. All five previous seasons are also available to stream on Apple TV for anyone catching up.

What Is Slow Horses Season 6 About?

Season 6 sees the Slough House team on the run after Diana Taverner pulls them into what Apple describes as a dangerous game of retaliation and revenge. Gary Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb alongside Jack Lowden as River Cartwright and Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner. Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving are also back, while Lenny Rush joins the cast.

One of the biggest additions is actually a return. Olivia Cooke reprises her role as Sidonie “Sid” Baker for the first time since Season 1, reopening one of the show’s longest-running questions after Sid was previously believed to have died.

Season 6 adapts Mick Herron’s novels Joe Country and Slough House, with Gaby Chiappe adapting the season for television and Adam Randall directing.

For CultureCues, Slow Horses is such a consistently good show and we have been waiting for Season 6. Gary Oldman is always brilliant as Jackson Lamb, and Sid’s return adds another big mystery after all this time. The weekly wait is going to be painful, but we are very happy to have Slough House back on Wednesdays.
