Friday the 13th fans finally have a UK release date for Crystal Lake, with Sky confirming that all eight episodes of the new prequel series will arrive on Monday, 19 October. The A24 series stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees and takes viewers back to Crystal Lake before the events that made Jason Voorhees one of horror’s most recognisable killers. Rather than following Jason himself, the story centres on his mother as she struggles with the death of her young son and the events that follow.

All eight episodes will be available together on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland, meaning viewers will be able to binge the entire series from launch day.

What Is Crystal Lake About?

Crystal Lake follows single mother Pam Voorhees almost a year after her young son Jason drowned in the town lake. Still unable to move on from his death, Pam finds herself facing new questions about her past when two strangers unexpectedly arrive at her door. Their appearance sets off a disturbing chain of events across the town, with the people of Crystal Lake beginning to question exactly who Pam Voorhees really is.

The series will expand the mythology established across the Friday the 13th films, exploring Pam and Jason’s story before the franchise’s later bloodshed. New first-look images also show Cardellini’s Pam covered in blood and wielding a machete, suggesting the series will not be holding back when it comes to its horror roots.

Who Is in the Crystal Lake Cast?

Linda Cardellini leads the series as Pam Voorhees, following roles in Dead to Me and DTF St. Louis. She is joined by William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.

Brad Caleb Kane, whose credits include It: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice and Warrior, serves as creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner. Original Friday the 13th writer Victor Miller is also involved as an executive producer, alongside A24 and Horror, Inc.

When Is Crystal Lake Released in the UK?

All eight episodes of Crystal Lake will be available on Monday, 19 October exclusively on Sky and NOW in the UK and Ireland. The UK release comes four days after the series launches in the US, but Sky viewers will at least get the full season at once rather than waiting week by week.
