Reacher is officially coming back for Season 6, with Prime Video renewing the hit action series just 12 days after the Season 4 finale. Alan Ritchson will return as Jack Reacher for another chapter based on Lee Child’s bestselling novels, although Prime video has not yet revealed which book will provide the story for Season 6. The renewal comes while Season 5 is already filming in Toronto, keeping the series firmly on course for another run of yearly releases.

Reacher Season 6 Is Officially Happening

Prime Video confirmed the sixth season after another huge run for the series. According to Amazon, 66 million people worldwide watched Season 4 during its first 28 days, with Seasons 2, 3 and 4 ranking among the platform’s most-watched returning seasons.

Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, said: “Alan Ritchson is Jack Reacher”, praising both Ritchson’s performance and the work of Lee Child, showrunner Nick Santora and the wider creative team. The renewal also means Reacher will become Prime Video’s second longest-running live-action scripted series behind Bosch.

What Do We Know About Reacher Season 6?

Details about Season 6 are still limited, with no release date, supporting cast or source novel announced yet. Ritchson is expected to return as Reacher, with Santora continuing as writer, executive producer and showrunner.

Lee Child has already discussed some of the books fans would like to see adapted next. He recently suggested that 61 Hours could be particularly difficult to film because so much of the story depends on untouched snowy landscapes, while Ritchson has named Die Trying as his favourite book in the series. For now, Prime Video has not confirmed whether either title is being considered for Season 6.

Reacher Season 5 Is Already Filming

Before Season 6 arrives, viewers still have Season 5 to come, with production already underway in Toronto. The new season is based on Make Me, the 20th novel in Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series.

Season 4 adapted Gone Tomorrow and followed Reacher after a chance encounter on a subway pulled him into another dangerous conspiracy. The series has continued to build a huge international audience, with Amazon saying 58% of the Season 4 audience came from outside the US, including particularly strong viewing in the UK, Germany and Brazil.

The wider Reacher world has also expanded with spin-off Neagley, starring Maria Sten, following the success of the main series.

For CultureCues, we are not surprised Prime Video wants more Reacher, especially when the series keeps getting bigger every season. Alan Ritchson has completely made the role his own, and knowing Season 5 is already filming while Season 6 is locked in means there is plenty more Jack Reacher still to come. We are very interested to see which Lee Child novel they choose next and, at this point, Reacher really does not look like he is slowing down anytime soon.
