The Gentlemen is officially back in production, with filming now underway on Season 3 and a big group of new cast members joining Theo James and Kaya Scodelario. Netflix has confirmed that the new season will once again run for eight hour-long episodes, with production taking place in the UK and Morocco. No release date has been announced yet, but Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom and Robert Carlyle are among the biggest new names joining the series.
Dexter Fletcher, Bruna Marquezine, Ed Speleers, Saffron Burrows and Bugzy Malone have also been added to the cast. They join returning stars James as Eddie Horniman and Scodelario as Susie Glass, alongside Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins and Benjamin Clementine.
Maya Jama is also returning as Aisha after making her debut in Season 2, following a busy year that has also seen her appear as one of the Traitors on The Celebrity Traitors.
The new episodes will see Eddie and Susie taking on their biggest plan yet as they attempt to build a casino in the Middle East. Netflix is already teasing that Eddie’s ambition could finally be getting out of hand, with more danger waiting as the scale of the operation grows. Guy Ritchie, who created the series after his 2019 film of the same name, says Season 3 will take things even bigger as the story continues to grow.
For CultureCues, we love The Gentlemen and really enjoyed Season 2, so we were already looking forward to Season 3 before this new cast was announced. Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom joining the show is giving us major Lord of the Rings reunion energy, which we absolutely love. Then there is Robert Carlyle, who is an absolute Scottish legend and someone we will happily watch in pretty much anything. With Theo James, Kaya Scodelario and the rest of the returning cast already in place, Season 3 is shaping up very nicely.
The Gentlemen Season 3 is now filming in the UK and Morocco, with a release date yet to be announced.
