Saturday Night Live UK is back tonight, with Danny Dyer taking over hosting duties for the latest episode of the second series. The BAFTA-winning Rivals and Mr Big Stuff star will lead tonight’s live show, with singer-songwriter Sasha Keable joining him as musical guest. The episode airs live at 10pm tonight, Saturday 10 October, on Sky One, with Dyer spending the week preparing alongside the SNL UK cast ahead of his hosting debut.
A midweek promo has already given viewers a taste of Dyer getting involved with the show, appearing alongside cast members Larry Dean and Jack Shep. Tonight he will join returning performers Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Freddie Meredith, Al Nash, Emma Sidi, Paddy Young and the rest of the ensemble for a new batch of topical sketches, live comedy and the UK version of Weekend Update.
There is plenty more coming throughout October too. James Norton will host next Saturday, 17 October, with The Streets as musical guest, before Cynthia Erivo takes over on 24 October alongside Blossoms.
For CultureCues, we’re really looking forward to seeing Danny Dyer host tonight. He’s quite a character and naturally funny, so we think he’ll be brilliant hosting a live sketch show. You can already tell from the promos that the writers have had plenty of fun with him this week. Sasha Keable is a great musical guest too, so we’ll be tuning in at 10pm to see how it all goes.
