Dominic West and Sienna Miller are preparing for battle in WAR, Sky’s new legal drama set inside two of London’s most powerful rival law firms. Sky has released the first teaser and images from the eight-part series, which follows the explosive divorce of a tech entrepreneur and an international film star. The fight between the former couple soon becomes an equally ruthless contest between the lawyers representing them.

When Is WAR Released on Sky?

WAR will premiere in the UK on Friday, 2 October 2026 on Sky and streaming service NOW. The eight episodes will be released weekly rather than arriving together as a complete box set. Sky has not yet confirmed an exact broadcast or streaming time.

How Many Episodes Are in WAR?

The first series of WAR contains eight episodes. Provided there are no breaks in the weekly schedule, the finale would be expected to arrive on Friday, 20 November. Sky has only confirmed the 2 October premiere so far, meaning the complete dated schedule has not yet been announced.

What Is WAR About?

Dominic West plays Morgan Henderson, a British tech entrepreneur whose marriage to international film star Carla Duval, played by Sienna Miller, has collapsed. Their divorce becomes the case of the year as rival London firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne fight to secure victory. Both Morgan and Carla are told they are the wronged party, setting up a battle where neither will back down.

The case also pulls ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren into a world where professional success depends on winning at almost any cost. As the divorce grows increasingly bitter, loyalties begin to fracture and reputations are placed at risk.

Who Is in the WAR Cast?

Dominic West (The CrownThe Wire) leads the cast as Morgan Henderson, with Sienna Miller (Anatomy of a ScandalAmerican Sniper) playing his estranged wife, Carla Duval.

Phoebe Fox stars as Serena Byrne and James McArdle plays Nicholas Taylor, the partners in life and business behind Taylor & Byrne. Nina Sosanya appears as Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi, with Pip Torrens as St John Smallwood, their rivals at Cathcarts & Sons. Archie Renaux plays young lawyer Johnny Warren. The wider cast includes Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, Emma Laird, Archie Panjabi, Adrian Scarborough, Miles Jupp, Honor Swinton Byrne, Akiya Henry, Shaheen Jafargholi and Alexandra Mardell.

The series was created and written by George Kay, whose previous credits include LupinHijack and The Long Shadow. Ben Taylor serves as lead director, with Laurie Borg producing. WAR is co-produced by New Pictures and Observatory Pictures in association with Sky and HBO. Kay also serves as an executive producer alongside Willow Grylls, Matt Sandford, Susan Breen, Taylor, Andrea Dewsbury and Megan Spanjian.

Has WAR Already Been Renewed for Series 2?

Yes. Sky and HBO gave WAR a two-series order before the first had premiered, and production is already underway on Series 2. The drama will follow an anthology format, with each series focusing on a different headline-making legal battle. Series 2 will star Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald and David Harewood in a story centred on an explosive defamation case.

For CultureCues, Dominic West and Sienna Miller are brilliant casting, and their chemistry already comes through even as the couple prepare to go to war. Carla’s fame adds plenty of glitz and glamour, but the trailer is packed with tension and has left us wanting to see much more. The teaser makes it clear this will be as much a battle between the lawyers as the couple, and with both sides convinced they are the wronged party, we cannot wait to find out where the truth lies. Court is almost in session, and WAR is firmly on our watchlist.

WAR premieres weekly on Sky and NOW from 2 October 2026.
