Netflix has released the first trailer for The Witcher Season 4, giving viewers their first proper look at Liam Hemsworth stepping into the role of Geralt.
The new season follows Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri as they are pulled apart across a war-ravaged Continent, each facing new dangers and unexpected allies along the way. The trailer centres on Geralt’s search for Ciri, with Hemsworth leading a rough-edged group of companions as the scale of the conflict continues to grow around them.
The footage leans into the darker fantasy world the series is known for, but there is still room for a little humour too, with one of Geralt’s new companions pointing out that an “ominous graveyard of death” was perhaps worth mentioning earlier. Laurence Fishburne also joins the season as Regis, a fan-favourite character from the books and games.
For CultureCues, this first look suggests Season 4 is less interested in easing viewers into the transition and more focused on throwing Geralt straight back into the fire, with Hemsworth’s debut arriving in a season built around separation, survival and reunion.
The Witcher Season 4 premieres on Netflix on 30 October.
