The Last House is now streaming on Netflix, trapping Greta Lee and Wagner Moura inside a family home that suddenly becomes impossible to escape. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the sci-fi thriller follows an ordinary family whose lives change when every exit from their home is mysteriously sealed. With no explanation, limited supplies and an unknown threat keeping them inside, they must find a way to survive using only what is already around them.

What Is The Last House About?

Greta Lee stars as Ann Delgado, who begins the day at home with her husband Jason and their two children. Their routine is interrupted by a storm, and the family soon discovers that every door and window has been sealed. As their resources begin to disappear, Ann and Jason must protect their children and work out why they have been trapped. Their confinement continues across several years, with the children played by different actors as the story moves forward in time.

The trailer turns the family home from a place of safety into something increasingly threatening. Director Louis Leterrier has described the film as an ordinary family’s worst nightmare, with their survival depending on whether they can remain united as the situation becomes more dangerous.

Who Is in The Last House Cast?

Greta Lee (Past LivesRussian Doll) leads the cast as Ann, the mother determined to hold her family together. Wagner Moura (NarcosCivil War) plays her husband Jason, who is equally focused on protecting their children and finding a way out. Noah Alexander Sosnowski and Gabriel Barbosa share the role of their son, Graham, showing him at different ages. Riley Chung and Emma Ho play their daughter, Ruth, as the story progresses through the family’s years of confinement.

Lee also completed extensive underwater training for the film, learning to dive and hold her breath for several scenes. She has said the production even helped her overcome a lifelong fear of sharks.

Who Made The Last House?

Louis Leterrier, whose previous credits include Lupin and Now You See Me, directs the film from a screenplay by Matthew Robinson. Robinson previously worked on Love and MonstersDora and the Lost City of Gold and The Invention of Lying. Leterrier produces alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Kori Adelson and Oly Obst. The score was composed by Yair Elazar Glotman, who used unexpected objects and sounds from around the house to reflect the family adapting to survive with whatever they could find.

Is There a Trailer for The Last House?

Yes. Netflix has released the official trailer, which shows the Delgado family discovering that their home has been completely sealed before their food, water and sense of safety begin to disappear. The footage keeps the reason for their confinement hidden, but Wagner Moura has teased that the story contains several layers and twists viewers will not expect.

For CultureCues, Greta Lee and Wagner Moura are a brilliant pairing, and this already feels like a great showcase for both. The trailer raises plenty of questions without revealing what is keeping them trapped, and watching the children grow up inside the house makes the situation even more disturbing. We have checked the doors, cancelled our plans and added this straight to the weekend watchlist. Our full review is coming soon.

The Last House is streaming now exclusively on Netflix.
