The Drac Pack is heading back to the big screen, with Sony Pictures Animation and Amazon MGM Studios officially announcing a fifth Hotel Transylvania film. Titled The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania, the new animated adventure will be released in cinemas on 8 October 2027. It marks the franchise’s first theatrical release since Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation arrived in 2018, after the fourth film, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, moved directly to Prime Video in 2022.
The new film finds Dracula happily settled into retirement while Mavis takes over the running of the hotel. However, when a series of unexplained and increasingly spooky events begins disturbing the resort, the group sets out to uncover exactly what is haunting Hotel Transylvania.
Jennifer Kluska and Alan Hawkins will direct, with Lawrence Jonas producing. Genndy Tartakovsky and Michelle Murdocca serve as executive producers. Kluska previously co-directed Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. Sony Pictures Animation and Amazon MGM Studios are co-producing the film following their previous partnership on Transformania.
No voice cast for The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania has been officially announced yet, so it remains unclear who will return. Selena Gomez has voiced Mavis throughout the main film series, while Adam Sandler played Dracula in the first three films before Brian Hull took over the role in Transformania.
The original Hotel Transylvania opened in cinemas in 2012 and introduced audiences to Dracula’s monster resort, where creatures and their families could escape the human world. The franchise has since expanded across four films and earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide.
