The Celebrity Traitors has won the Reality Competition award at the NTAs 2026, adding another trophy to the BBC hit’s growing collection. The celebrity edition of the hugely popular reality series took home the award during tonight’s ceremony at The O2 Arena in London, beating I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, Race Across the World and the original The Traitors.

Winners at the National Television Awards are decided by the public, making the result another sign of just how strongly The Celebrity Traitors connected with viewers following its first series.

The Celebrity Traitors Wins Reality Competition at the NTAs

The Reality Competition category featured some of the biggest shows on British television, with three BBC programmes and two editions of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity competing for the award.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, The Celebrity Traitors brought the familiar format to a celebrity cast for the first time in 2025, with Alan Carr, Cat Burns, Celia Imrie, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Jonathan Ross, Kate Garraway, Lucy Beaumont and Nick Mohammed among those entering the castle.

The series became one of the biggest television talking points of the year, with its mix of betrayals, round tables and celebrity personalities generating plenty of memorable moments throughout its run.

Another Award for The Celebrity Traitors

The NTA win continues an impressive awards run for The Celebrity Traitors. The series has already been recognised at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards, where it won the Reality award, while Alan Carr’s victory on the show was also voted the P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award by the public. It also won Entertainment and Reality at the 2026 RTS Programme Awards.

Its latest victory is particularly notable given that it was competing directly against The Traitors, which previously won the NTA Reality Competition award in both 2023 and 2024.

The win also comes on a big night for Alan Carr, who received the Special Recognition award during the 2026 ceremony. Carr was surprised with a musical tribute led by his close friend Amanda Holden, who was joined by Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church, Kate Garraway and David Olusoga to perform “I Know Him So Well” before the award was revealed.

The National Television Awards 2026 are taking place live at The O2 Arena in London on Tuesday 8 September, hosted by Joel Dommett.
