The Celebrity Traitors is returning to BBC One and BBC iPlayer later in 2026, with another 21 famous faces heading to the Scottish Highlands for a new game of deception, betrayal and some very suspicious round tables. After the first celebrity series became a huge hit for the BBC in 2025, Claudia Winkleman will once again welcome a new group of celebrities to the castle, where they will compete for a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.
When Is The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 on BBC One and iPlayer?
The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer later in 2026, although the BBC has not yet confirmed an exact premiere date.
The first series debuted in October 2025, so an autumn return would certainly make sense, but for now viewers will have to wait for the BBC to confirm the schedule. The new series will once again be made by Studio Lambert Scotland and filmed at the familiar Traitors castle in the Scottish Highlands.

Add Bella Ramsey, Heartstopper actor Sebastian Croft, former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Richard E. Grant, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Romesh Ranganathan, and there are already plenty of people we cannot wait to see around that round table.
How Successful Was The Celebrity Traitors Series 1?
The first series of The Celebrity Traitors debuted on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in October 2025 and became one of the broadcaster’s biggest television events of the year. It averaged 14.9 million viewers across the series and reached 15.4 million for the finale. It also gave us Alan Carr at his most brilliantly Alan Carr, which frankly deserves recognition as its own national television event.
The main series continued that success in January 2026, with The Traitors Series 4 averaging 12.5 million viewers per episode, so expectations are understandably high for another celebrity trip to the castle.
What Can We Expect From The Celebrity Traitors Series 2?
The format remains the same: among the 21 celebrities, a small group will secretly be selected as Traitors and tasked with “murdering” their fellow players without being discovered. The Faithfuls must work out who is lying before banishing them at the round table, with the remaining contestants hoping to build the prize pot to as much as £100,000 for charity.
And with this cast, there is plenty of potential for brilliant television. Comedians including James Acaster, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan are all capable of causing absolute havoc, and seeing how actors including Bella Ramsey, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart and Richard E. Grant handle a game built entirely around convincing people they are telling the truth should be fascinating.
For CultureCues, Series 2 already looks like one of the biggest TV events still to come in 2026. The first celebrity series proved just how entertaining this format becomes when familiar faces are suddenly accusing each other of murder over breakfast, and this cast might be even harder to predict.
