Netflix has set a premiere date for The Beast in Me, its upcoming mystery thriller starring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys. The limited series stars Danes as Aggie Wiggs, an acclaimed author who has withdrawn from public life after the death of her young son. Unable to write and haunted by grief, she finds herself drawn back into obsession when Nile Jarvis, played by Rhys, moves into the house next door.
Nile is a powerful real estate mogul who was once suspected in his wife’s disappearance, giving Aggie a dangerous new subject and a mystery she cannot seem to leave alone. As she digs deeper, the series sets up a tense cat-and-mouse story shaped by grief, suspicion and unanswered questions.
The series also stars Brittany Snow and Natalie Morales, with guest appearances from Jonathan Banks, Kate Burton, Bill Irwin, Deidre O’Connell and more.
For CultureCues, The Beast in Me already feels like one to watch, with Danes and Rhys at the centre of a tense, intimate thriller built around curiosity and dark fascination. “We are, all of us, drawn to monsters,” Danes says in the teaser, and that feeling seems central to what the series is exploring.
The Beast in Me premieres on Netflix on 13 November, with all eight episodes available to stream at once.
