What Is Ted Lasso Season 4 About?

Season 4 brings Ted back to Richmond for what Apple describes as his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second-division women’s football team. Across the new episodes, Ted and his players will learn to take chances they may previously have avoided as they try to build a new team together. The change allows the series to begin a fresh football story without leaving Richmond behind, bringing Ted back into the world where his unexpected coaching journey began.

Who Is Returning for Ted Lasso Season 4?

Jason Sudeikis returns as Ted alongside Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins.

Season 4 also introduces Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely to the cast. Feely takes over the role of Ted’s son, Henry, as the series begins its next chapter.

For CultureCues, we are delighted to have Ted Lasso back after believing Season 3 could be the end. Moving the focus to a women’s football team gives Ted a completely new challenge, but the return of Rebecca, Keeley, Roy, Beard and Higgins means the heart of the series remains in place. Waiting weekly may test our patience, but having new episodes through to October gives us much more time with AFC Richmond. Believe us, Wednesdays are about to get much better.

Ted Lasso Season 4 premieres on Apple TV on 5 August 2026.
