Sky has released the official trailer for Sweetpea season 2, confirming that Ella Purnell will return as Rhiannon Lewis when the dark comedy thriller arrives on Thursday 26 November 2026. The new season sees Rhiannon facing another dangerous chapter in her complicated double life, with a copycat killer threatening to expose her murderous secrets.
All episodes will be available to stream on Sky and NOW from launch.
Following the events of the first season, Rhiannon is attempting to navigate a promotion at work, a promising new romance and the growing consequences of her previous actions. However, with another killer apparently following in her footsteps and the body count continuing to rise, keeping her secrets hidden is becoming difficult. She’s also forced to confront a rather uncomfortable question raised by her ex-boyfriend AJ: is she actually a monster?
The new trailer offers a glimpse at the chaos awaiting Rhiannon, with Purnell returning to the role that saw her transform from an overlooked wallflower into a killer with a growing list of victims. And judging by what’s ahead, her troubles are only getting started.
Who Joins Ella Purnell in Sweetpea Season 2?
Several new faces are joining the cast, including Rish Shah as Rhiannon’s new romantic interest Gabriel and Tamsin Greig as Liv, AJ’s mother. Taj Atwal will play Freya, Rhiannon’s formidable new boss at the Carnsham Gazette, alongside Heartstopper star Jenny Walser as her new friend Daisy and Annabelle Davis as Bella, who works in the police administration department.

Returning cast members include Jon Pointing as Craig, Jeremy Swift as Norman, Leah Harvey as Marina, Ingrid Oliver as DI St John, Nitin Ganatra as Rory and Alexandra Dowling as Seren.

Inspired by the character created in CJ Skuse’s novels, Sweetpea is produced by See-Saw Films in association with Sky Studios.
For CultureCues, Ella Purnell was brilliant in the first season, and we’re delighted to see her back as Rhiannon. Between her questionable decisions, dark humour and ability to somehow make us root for a murderer, Sweetpea was such an entertaining watch. Throwing a copycat killer into the mix is a fantastic way to complicate things, especially when Rhiannon already has enough problems keeping her own murders under wraps. We’re also looking forward to seeing Tamsin Greig join the cast, as we have a feeling she’ll be a brilliant addition to the series.
Sweetpea season 2 premieres on Sky and NOW on Thursday 26 November 2026.
