Apple TV has released the trailer for Silo season 3 today, 2 June, giving fans a new look at the dystopian drama ahead of its July return. The 10-episode third season will premiere on Apple TV on 3 July, with one new episode arriving every Friday through 4 September. Rebecca Ferguson returns as Juliette Nichols, while also executive producing the series. Silo has already been renewed for a fourth and final season, meaning season 3 marks the beginning of the show’s final stretch towards its endgame.

Created by Graham Yost and based on Hugh Howey’s bestselling trilogy, Silo follows a society of 10,000 people living underground under mysterious circumstances. Season 3 appears to introduce a split timeline, continuing Juliette’s story in the present while also revealing an origin story set centuries earlier.

The trailer confirms Juliette survived her forced “cleaning”, but she returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from rebellion and faces another dangerous threat. In the footage, Juliette admits that she does not recognise the person looking back at her in the mirror, suggesting the new season will push her into an even more uncertain place. The new season will also explore the “Before Times”, following journalist Helen Drew, played by Jessica Henwick, and Congressman Daniel Keene, played by Ashley Zukerman, as they uncover a conspiracy with devastating consequences for the world above.

Returning cast members include Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Rick Gomez, Billy Postlethwaite, Clare Perkins and Steve Zahn, who returns as Jimmy/Solo. New additions for season 3 include Laura Innes, Jessica Brown Findlay, Morven Christie, Reed Birney and Matt Craven, with Colin Hanks set to recur.

For CultureCues, Silo remains one of Apple TV’s strongest sci-fi dramas, and the new trailer suggests season 3 is widening the story in a really interesting way. Juliette’s fight for the truth was already compelling, but adding the “Before Times” gives the series a chance to dig into how this world was built in the first place. We are very much ready to head back underground.

Silo season 3 premieres on Apple TV on 3 July.
