Off Campus is officially returning for a second series on Prime Video, with the streamer renewing the college romance drama before its first season had even premiered. Based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling Off-Campus book series, the first season adapts The Deal, following Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham as their fake-dating arrangement turns into something a lot more complicated.

The series launched on Prime Video on 13 May, with Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli leading the cast as Hannah and Garrett. The wider Briar University ensemble includes Antonio Cipriano as John Logan, Stephen Kalyn as Dean Di Laurentis, Khobe Clarke as Beau Maxwell, Jalen Thomas Brooks as John Tucker, Mika Abdalla as Allie Hayes and Jaz Sinclair as Jules, whose gossip group chat The Fifth Line became one of the show’s most useful sources of campus drama. Charlie Evans also appears as Hunter Davenport, whose season one finale arrival could make things even messier.

Prime Video has not yet confirmed which couple will take centre stage in series two, but book fans already have a strong suspect: book two, The Mistake. The novel follows hockey player John Logan and Grace Ivers, with India Fowler now cast as Grace for the show’s next season.

That makes The Mistake the most likely source material for series two. In the book, Logan is dealing with feelings he cannot quite sort out, pressure around his future and a romance with Grace that starts badly enough to require a proper second chance. Given how much book fans love a redemption arc with a side order of Briar University drama, it would be a very natural next step.

However, Off Campus has already complicated the book order a little. Series one planted major seeds for Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes, whose romance belongs to the third book, The Score, meaning the show already has another Briar couple waiting in the wings.

Their story is already in motion on screen, with Dean and Allie’s secret connection becoming one of the first season’s biggest surprises. Levy has also said there is still “plenty of story” left to explore with them when their season arrives, suggesting the show has not burned through The Score just yet. And no, we are absolutely not over that dance scene. Watching it on repeat counts as research, obviously.

So, what book will Off Campus series two be based on? Right now, the safest answer is The Mistake, thanks to the Grace casting and the original book order. But the show is clearly happy to plant seeds early, meaning Dean and Allie may continue to cause trouble in the background before getting their full spotlight later.

For CultureCues, that is probably the smartest way to handle it. The appeal of Off Campus is not just one couple, it is the whole messy, flirty, emotionally chaotic Briar University ecosystem. Give Logan and Grace their moment, keep Dean and Allie simmering, and let The Fifth Line do the rest. Briar gossip waits for no one.

Series one of Off Campus is streaming now on Prime Video.
