Good news for Nobody Wants This fans! Netflix has officially renewed its hit romantic comedy for a fourth season, with Kristen Bell and Adam Brody returning as Joanne and Noah. The announcement comes just two weeks after season three premiered on 22 October, confirming that the couple’s love story is far from over. Clearly, everybody wants Nobody Wants This after all.

Created by Erin Foster, Nobody Wants This has become one of Netflix’s most popular romantic comedies, following the unlikely relationship between an agnostic podcast host and a rabbi. The third season attracted 13.4 million views during its first two weeks, spending both weeks in Netflix’s global Top 10 and delivering the platform’s biggest opening week for a returning comedy series this year.

Speaking about the renewal, Netflix’s Vice President of Comedy Series, Tracey Pakosta, said: “Great love stories never go out of style, and Nobody Wants This has become a true cultural phenomenon.”

Series creator Erin Foster and fellow showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan also celebrated the news, joking: “We are so happy and thrilled to do another season of our favorite show on television, which coincidentally is the one we run.”

What Will Happen in Nobody Wants This Season 4?

The fourth season will pick up following the events of the season three finale, which saw Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) take a huge step in their relationship. After moving in together and navigating Joanne’s conversion to Judaism, the couple surprised viewers with an intimate beach wedding in Malibu.

Now there’s just the small matter of telling everyone they’re married. Co-showrunner Jenni Konner has confirmed that the wedding will have consequences for the couple’s families, teasing: “There are a lot of people who are going to find out that Noah and Joanne are married when we come back.”

Elsewhere, there’s plenty of unfinished business involving Morgan (Justine Lupe), Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Esther (Jackie Tohn), whose complicated relationships became a major part of the third season. With secrets revealed during the finale and some difficult conversations still to come, there’s certainly enough family drama to keep everyone busy.

Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for season four, although filming will once again take place in Los Angeles. Further production and casting details are expected to be announced. We also recently shared our thoughts on the latest season in our four-star review of Nobody Wants This season three.

For CultureCues, the news that Nobody Wants This is getting another season is music to our ears! We’ve loved the show from the beginning, and after everything Joanne and Noah went through, it’s been great seeing their relationship develop. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are fantastic, but we’re also desperate to know what happens with Morgan and Sasha. Their storyline has become one of our favourite parts of the show, and we need to know where things go from here. We’re also looking forward to seeing everyone’s reactions to that surprise wedding, because we have a feeling those conversations are going to be hilarious.
