The first trailer for My Adventures with Superman Season 3 has arrived, giving fans a new look at Clark Kent’s next chapter and confirming the arrival of two major DC figures: Cyborg Superman and Superboy. It premieres on HBO Max in the UK on 14 June. In the US, the season launches on Adult Swim’s Toonami block on Saturday 13 June at midnight ET/PT, before streaming on HBO Max the following day.
Season 3 will loosely draw from DC’s iconic Reign of the Supermen storyline, though showrunner Jake Wyatt has made it clear this will not be a straightforward adaptation. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Wyatt said the season is “less Death [of Superman]” and more about asking: “What’s a Superman?” He also teased Hank Henshaw’s transformation, saying: “We’re Cyborg Superman right out the gate.”
The trailer introduces Cyborg Superman as a major threat, while Darren Criss joins the voice cast as Connor Kent, also known as Superboy. Criss has previous DC animation experience, having voiced Superman in Superman: Man of Tomorrow, which makes his arrival here a fun little full-circle moment.
Jack Quaid returns as Clark Kent/Superman, alongside Alice Lee as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen and Kiana Madeira as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.
For CultureCues, the joy of My Adventures with Superman has always been how much heart it brings to the Man of Steel without losing the comic-book spectacle. With Cyborg Superman, Superboy and a Reign of the Supermen remix, Season 3 looks ready to send Metropolis into super-powered meltdown.
My Adventures with Superman Season 3 premieres on HBO Max in the UK on 14 June. US viewers can watch on Adult Swim from Saturday 13 June, with episodes streaming on HBO Max the next day.
