Mindy Kaling’s new comedy Not Suitable for Work has premiered on Disney+ in the UK. The series launched today, 2 June, with its first three episodes. Two new episodes will then roll out weekly, with the finale set to arrive on 23 June. In the US, the series is streaming on Hulu. Disney+ confirmed the UK rollout earlier this year, with the show launching exclusively on the platform in the UK.

Created by Kaling, Not Suitable for Work follows five work-obsessed twenty-somethings trying to build successful careers while also attempting to have personal lives in Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighbourhood.

The series stars Ella Hunt, Avantika, Will Angus, Jack Martin, Nicholas Duvernay and Jay Ellis. Recurring guest stars include Victor Garber, Greg Germann, Judy Gold, Ego Nwodim, Harry Richardson, Constance Wu, Laura Bell Bundy, May Hong, Bhavesh Patel, Emilia Suárez and Michael Benjamin Washington.

Kaling executive produces alongside showrunner Charlie Grandy, whose previous credits include The Sex Lives of College Girls and The Mindy Project, as well as 3 Arts Entertainment’s Howard Klein. The series is produced by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television.

For CultureCues, Not Suitable for Work sounds like an easy streaming pick if you enjoy comedies built around twenty-something friendship groups, work drama and people trying to figure life out while making questionable choices. We are always here for a show that can fill a little bit of the Friends or How I Met Your Mother gap, especially if it gives us something to laugh at and maybe get unexpectedly invested in. Either way, we’re looking forward to watching, and we’ll be sharing our review soon.

The first three episodes of Not Suitable for Work are streaming now on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US.
