Megadeth have announced Breakout: Hibernation of the Nations, a 24-date UK and European arena tour forming the next chapter of the band’s multi-year global farewell. The run begins at The O2 Belfast on 9 March 2027 before visiting London, Manchester, Glasgow and several other UK cities, then continuing across mainland Europe until its final date in Lisbon on 13 April.
Black Label Society and Testament will join Megadeth across the entire tour, bringing together three major names from heavy metal for one of 2027’s biggest touring line-ups.
The tour follows the release of Megadeth’s seventeenth and final studio album, which became the band’s first record to reach number one on the Billboard 200. Rather than staging one final run of shows, Megadeth are taking their farewell across several years and continents, giving fans around the world more opportunities to celebrate the band’s four-decade career.
“This isn’t about saying goodbye,” Dave Mustaine said. “It’s about celebrating everything we’ve built together over the last four decades. Every city has its own story, every crowd has given us unforgettable memories, and we want to come back to celebrate that with the fans who made it all possible.” Mustaine added: “When we started talking about this tour, we wanted it to be a true celebration of metal. Black Label Society and Testament are bands we have tremendous respect for, and having them join us makes these shows even more special. This lineup represents decades of heavy music, and it’s going to be an incredible night for the fans.”
Fans can expect a career-spanning production celebrating every era of Megadeth, including classic songs, fan favourites and selections from the band’s final album. Across more than four decades, the group have sold over 50 million records worldwide, earned a GRAMMY Award and released albums including Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?, Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction.
The Cyber Army presale begins at 10am local time on Tuesday, 4 August, followed by the artist presale at 10am on Wednesday, 5 August. General sale opens at 10am on Friday, 7 August. VIP packages will include meet-and-greet opportunities, premium merchandise, early entry and exclusive memorabilia. Preferred access to selected tickets will also be available to Mastercard cardholders from 10am BST on Friday, 7 August.

For CultureCues, this is a huge farewell line-up for metal fans, especially as these mark Megadeth’s first UK tour dates in 11 years. After such a long wait, longtime fans who have followed the band at any point across their four-decade career will be especially excited to see them return. Bringing Black Label Society and Testament along for the full run makes the shows feel like a wider celebration of heavy metal rather than one band’s final chapter. We are especially glad to see Glasgow’s OVO Hydro among the UK dates because, as we always say, no Scotland, no party. We know how to rock, and this one should be loud.
