Maxton Hall – The World Between Us will return for its third and final season in December 2026, bringing Ruby and James’ story to a close on Prime Video. Damian Hardung announced the release window during Prime Video’s inaugural Obsessed Fest in Los Angeles, where the streamer also unveiled the first images from the final six episodes. Season 3 will launch exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed.
The new season picks up after Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten) was suspended from Maxton Hall College, placing her dream of attending Oxford in serious danger. Refusing to give up, Ruby joins forces with James Beaufort (Hardung) to prove her innocence, but their search for the truth begins exposing secrets that could place even more pressure on their relationship.

Friendships will also be tested as Ruby and James face the consequences of the Season 2 finale, with the pair forced to decide whether their love can survive everything still standing between their worlds.
The final season is based on Save Us, the third novel in Mona Kasten’s bestselling trilogy. The series has kept Ruby and James’ romance at the centre throughout its run, following the scholarship student and wealthy heir as their very different lives became increasingly connected at the elite British college.
Returning cast members include Sonja Weißer as Lydia, Eidin Jalali as Graham, Ben Felipe as Cyril, Fedja van Huêt as Mortimer and Runa Greiner as Ember. Justus Riesner, Govinda Gabriel, Andrea Guo, Frederic Balonier, Eli Riccardi and Dagny Dewath will also return.

Season 3 is expected to provide answers around Lydia and Graham’s relationship, explore more of the Beaufort family’s power and wealth and bring the stories of Ruby and James’ friends to a conclusion.
Martin Schreier returns to direct, with Ceylan Yildirim, Markus Brunnemann and Eike Adler serving as executive producers. Yildirim and Sandra Stöckmann are the season’s head writers, joined by Marlene Melchior, Catharina Junk and Aylin Kockler.
For CultureCues, saying goodbye to Maxton Hall will be bittersweet. Ruby and James have taken viewers through plenty of heartbreak and difficult choices, and the Season 2 cliffhanger left their future feeling more uncertain than ever. With Ruby’s Oxford dream now at risk and the truth threatening everything around them, the final season has plenty to resolve before the doors of Maxton Hall close for good.
One last term at Maxton Hall. Let’s go!
