Anya Taylor-Joy’s new crime thriller Lucky is now streaming on Apple TV, with the first two episodes available following the series’ launch on 15 July. Based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel and Reese’s Book Club pick, the seven-part limited series follows con artist Lucky Armstrong, who left behind the criminal life she was raised in years earlier.
When a multimillion-dollar heist goes wrong, Lucky is forced back on the run. With the FBI pursuing her and a dangerous crime boss closing in, she must rely on the darker side of herself she thought she had escaped. The opening episodes begin with Lucky searching for shelter and taking refuge with an unsuspecting family.

Taylor-Joy leads the cast and also serves as an executive producer through her LadyKiller production company. Timothy Olyphant, Annette Bening and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor also star. The series was created by Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas, who serve as co-showrunners. Tropper previously created Apple TV drama Your Friends & Neighbors and also wrote the adaptation with Pappas.

Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce through Hello Sunshine, with Jonathan van Tulleken directing the opening episode and also serving as an executive producer.
Episode 3, titled “Read the Room,” will arrive next Wednesday, 22 July.
For CultureCues, Anya Taylor-Joy leading a slick crime thriller was already enough to get our attention. The idea of a former con artist being dragged back into the life she escaped gives Lucky a strong setup, and the cast makes it even easier to add to the watch list. We will be tuning in and hoping Lucky lives up to her name.
The first two episodes of Lucky are streaming now on Apple TV, with new episodes released every Wednesday. The final episode will arrive on 19 August 2026.
