Jake Bugg has announced his seventh studio album, Alamo, alongside new single “Never Can Tell” and a stripped-back UK and Ireland tour for 2027. The album will be released on 13 November 2026 through Thirty Tigers, with Bugg heading back on the road in February for a run of intimate solo shows including dates in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The 10-date UK and Ireland leg begins at Manchester’s Albert Hall on 6 February 2027 before travelling to Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Gateshead, Sheffield, Liverpool, Bristol and Bugg’s hometown of Nottingham. The tour finishes at London’s Union Chapel on 26 February.

Presale tickets for Jake Bugg’s 2027 tour will be available from 10am BST on Friday, 4 September, before the general sale begins at 10am BST on Friday, 11 September. More info and tickets here.

The tour will see Bugg performing in a stripped-back solo setting, with several theatre and concert hall dates across the run. Scottish fans have two chances to see him, with a show at The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh on 11 February followed by Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket on 14 February.

Jake Bugg Announces Seventh Album Alamo

Alamo will be Bugg’s seventh studio album and his first released through Thirty Tigers. Produced by longtime collaborator Jimmy Hogarth and Steve McEwan, the 11-track record sees Bugg returning to his folk and country influences while writing openly about love, loneliness and some of the difficulties he has faced over the past few years.

Speaking about the record, Bugg said he felt it was time to “look inward” after years of touring and making albums, adding that Alamo only worked if he was willing to be honest and vulnerable. Songs including “When The Night”, “Day By Day”, the title track and “Cloud In The Sky” explore isolation, relationships and confronting the past.

The first song released from Alamo is “Never Can Tell”, a country-tinged, guitar-driven track about trust and working out which people to keep close after finding success. Bugg said the song came from how difficult it can be to know who to trust, particularly after growing up feeling the need to stay observant of the people around him. The track is available now alongside its lyric video.

The announcement continues a career that began with Bugg’s triple-platinum, UK Number One debut album in 2012. Before the new album arrives, he will also head to Nashville to headline Musicians Corner in Centennial Park on 18 September as part of Americana Fest.

A stripped-back Jake Bugg show should give fans a chance to hear the songs in a more intimate setting, and the Old Fruitmarket feels like a great venue for it. We have had many an excellent night there, and the sound of Alamo already feels well suited to that kind of room. With the new album arriving first, this should be a really good tour for fans who want to hear these songs up close.
