Fontaines D.C. have announced their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, alongside new single ‘Marianne’. The follow-up to 2024’s Romance will be released on 16 October 2026 via XL Recordings, with the band also teasing forthcoming UK live dates.

Produced by James Ford, Dopamine Chamber continues the Irish band’s evolution following the huge success of Romance. Frontman Grian Chatten has described the record as moving further into ideas around automation, escapism and a changing world, with bassist Conor Deegan explaining that the question at the heart of this album became: where do you escape to?

The first taste of the album comes with ‘Marianne’, an atmospheric new single partly inspired by the 2024 series Ripley. The track arrives with a music video directed by Dave Meyers and introduces some of the ideas around escapism that will run through Dopamine Chamber

There is also some potentially very good news for UK fans. Fontaines D.C. have confirmed that pre-ordering Dopamine Chamber through their official UK store will provide access to a presale for soon-to-be-announced UK dates. Fans can also register for access through a no-purchase option. The actual tour dates have not yet been revealed, so there is clearly another announcement still to come.

For CultureCues, Romance was such a brilliant record that a new Fontaines D.C. era already has our attention, and ‘Marianne’ is a very intriguing first taste of where they are going next. The UK tour tease may be the most exciting part for us though, and we will definitely be keeping an eye out for those dates. New album, new tour incoming. We are very ready.

Dopamine Chamber is released on 16 October 2026, with ‘Marianne’ available to stream now.
