It is double wedding day in Walford, with EastEnders putting two different couples at the centre of tonight’s episode. Cindy Beale and Max Branning are preparing to say “I do”, while Kim Fox and Howie Danes are also heading down the aisle. And because this is EastEnders, neither wedding is getting through the day without a few problems. Cue the duff-duffs.

What Time Is EastEnders on Tonight?

EastEnders airs tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One, with the episode running until 8pm. It can also be streamed on BBC iPlayer now.  Tonight’s episode centres on Cindy and Max’s wedding alongside Kim and Howie’s big day, with both couples dealing with very different family dramas before they can make it to the ceremony.

What Happens at Cindy and Max’s Wedding?

Cindy and Max’s wedding already has one fairly major problem: Max has been having an affair with Priya Nandra-Hart, and Priya is now pregnant with his baby. Things do not get off to a promising start when Max goes missing on the morning of the wedding. He eventually turns up with Linda Carter and reveals the truth about his affair, before heading to find Priya. Their confrontation is then overheard by Lauren, who makes it clear she will not be supporting him at the ceremony.

Jack and Oscar eventually get Max to the venue, where Cindy is waiting after already being upset to discover that many of Walford’s residents have chosen Kim and Howie’s celebration instead. Just as Max and Cindy prepare to exchange their vows, Linda and Priya arrive, leaving the wedding in serious trouble. 

Do Kim and Howie Get Married?

Kim and Howie’s wedding takes a much more emotional turn because Denise is too unwell to attend the original ceremony. After Denise initially joins the wedding through a video link, Howie makes a last-minute change to the plans so that she can be properly included. Kim and Howie head to Denise’s hospital room, where they are finally able to marry with her there.

The family then gets another piece of hopeful news when Denise’s doctor reveals that a provisional stem cell match has been found, giving them something else to celebrate before Kim and Howie return to Walford for their reception.

What Else Happens in Tonight’s EastEnders?

Away from the weddings, Kat puts the celebrations aside to spend time with Zoe and Tommy, while Zoe continues trying to track down Charlie’s old cab. That plan causes problems of its own when Zoe ends up taking the vehicle following an argument with the seller.

The Hawkins family are also settling further into Walford, although Ryder and Jodie do not exactly make the best impression when they help themselves to drinks intended for Kim and Howie’s wedding.

For CultureCues, putting two Walford weddings in the same episode was always asking for trouble. Kim and Howie’s day looks set to bring some lovely emotional moments with Denise, while Cindy and Max have enough secrets surrounding them to derail a dozen ceremonies. With Linda and Priya arriving just as the vows begin, we cannot imagine this one ending quietly.
