Dan Howell and Phil Lester are joining Taskmaster today, Saturday, 5 September, for a special appearance during its five-hour Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity livestream. The appearance comes as Taskmaster hosts a special online edition bringing together YouTubers and content creators for challenges while raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital’s new Children’s Cancer Centre.

When Are Dan and Phil on the Taskmaster Livestream?

Dan and Phil are expected to appear at around 7pm BST today, Saturday, 5 September. As the event is being broadcast live, the exact timing could move slightly depending on how the stream progresses.

Phil announced their involvement on Instagram, saying the pair will be judging a “questionable task”. Beyond that, there are no details about exactly what the challenge involves or how long Dan and Phil will be part of the stream, which feels fairly appropriate for Taskmaster.

How Do You Watch the Taskmaster GOSH Charity Livestream?

Taskmaster Live Stream: GOSH Charity Edition runs today from 5pm until 10pm BST and is being streamed online, including through the official Taskmaster YouTube channel and Twitch.

Alex Horne is hosting the event alongside comedian Jake Bhardwaj, with viewers also encouraged to donate throughout the stream to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

Who Is Taking Part in the Taskmaster Charity Stream?

The main competition features 10 YouTubers and content creators taking on Taskmaster-style challenges in teams of two. The announced line-up includes TommyInnit, MatPat, Stephanie Patrick, Ayamé, Hayley Morris, Stephen Tries, BambinoBecky, Imogen Andrews, Rob Colfer and The Squid.

Dan and Phil are separate from that contestant line-up and are appearing during the event to judge one of the tasks. Other special guests are also expected to pop up throughout the five-hour broadcast.

What Is the Taskmaster GOSH Event Raising Money For?

All money raised through the livestream will support the development of a new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The new centre is being designed to bring specialist treatment, research and facilities together in one place for children receiving cancer care. Plans also include outdoor areas such as a roof garden, giving young patients access to fresh air and spaces away from the clinical environment during hospital stays.

Alex Horne recently visited Great Ormond Street Hospital ahead of the fundraiser to meet families currently going through cancer treatment and see how the money raised through the event will help.

Taskmaster Series 22 Has Also Just Started

It is a busy week for Taskmaster, with Series 22 beginning on Channel 4 on Thursday, 3 September. Chloe Petts, Isy Suttie, Matt Lucas, Nina Conti and Richard Ayoade are this year’s five contestants, with Greg Davies and Alex Horne back overseeing the competition.

Episode 2 airs on Thursday, 10 September at 9pm on Channel 4, with the 10-part series continuing weekly through to November.

For CultureCues, Dan and Phil judging a mysterious Taskmaster challenge was not something we had on our Saturday plans, but obviously we will now be watching.
