Bridge of Lies is officially returning for another bumper run on BBC One and iPlayer, with the BBC commissioning 40 new episodes of the hit quiz show alongside 10 new episodes of Celebrity Bridge of Lies. Ross Kemp will return to host both series, with filming taking place in Glasgow this autumn.

The new commission marks Series 6 of Bridge of Lies and Series 5 of its celebrity spin-off, while the 40-episode order means the regular version will return with its biggest run so far. Produced by STV Studios, the format has become one of the BBC’s established quiz shows since launching in 2022.

When Is Bridge of Lies Series 6 Filming?

Filming for Bridge of Lies Series 6 will take place in Glasgow this autumn, with Ross Kemp heading back to Scotland to host the new episodes.

Speaking about the return, Kemp said he was “absolutely thrilled” to be coming back to Glasgow and described the expanded episode order as a testament to everyone involved in the programme and its viewers. He is looking forward to seeing more teams test their knowledge, trust and teamwork on the bridge.

The BBC has not announced a transmission date for Series 6 or the new celebrity episodes, so viewers will have to wait a little longer to find out when they will air on BBC One and iPlayer.

Applications are now open for anyone hoping to take part in Bridge of Lies Series 6. Prospective contestants can apply through the BBC Shows and Tours website, with applications closing on Sunday, 25 October 2026.

The show sees teams attempt to cross the bridge by identifying the correct answers while avoiding the lies placed in their path. Knowledge matters, but so does knowing when to trust your teammates, which has helped make the format work across both its regular and celebrity editions.

Celebrity Bridge of Lies Is Returning Too

Celebrity Bridge of Lies will also return for a fifth series with 10 new episodes. The BBC has not announced the celebrity contestants for the new run, but Ross Kemp will once again host. The celebrity version follows the same format, with famous faces working together to cross the bridge and avoid the wrong answers while trying to raise money for charity.

Both versions are produced by STV Studios, with Gary Chippington serving as executive producer. BBC Studios Distribution handles international format sales outside the US.
