Blossoms have announced a special intimate hometown show at Manchester’s Deaf Institute on Wednesday, 5 August, celebrating 10 years since the release of their self-titled debut album. The one-off performance will see the Stockport band return to one of Manchester’s best-known independent venues, with only 250 fans able to attend. The show arrives ahead of the biggest headline tour of Blossoms’ career and the release of their sixth studio album, Songs From the Wedding Cake.
Released in 2016, Blossoms introduced the band to a wider audience and went on to receive a Mercury Prize nomination. The anniversary show will bring them back to the smaller venue setting where their early live reputation began to grow. The Deaf Institute performance will also be recorded for an exclusive live double-CD edition of Songs From the Wedding Cake. The release will capture the band’s hometown celebration and mark a decade since the album that launched their career.
Presale tickets will be available here from 9:30am on Thursday, 30 July, with general sale beginning at 9:30am on Friday, 31 July. Fans can access the ticket presale by pre-ordering Songs From the Wedding Cake in any format through Blossoms’ official website. Anyone who has already ordered the album will automatically qualify and receive a presale code by email.
The announcement follows the recent reveal of Songs From the Wedding Cake, which will be released on 2 October through ODD SK and Distiller Records. The album includes the singles ‘Joke About Divorce’ and ‘Meet Me in Love’, with the band preparing to take the new material into arenas across the UK.
