American Horror Story is going all out for its 13th season. FX has released a new teaser for American Horror Story: 13, bringing Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and several familiar faces back together as the anthology revisits characters and horrors from across its previous seasons. The new season premieres in the US on 24 September before arriving in the UK on Disney+ the following day.
The teaser makes it clear that this is not simply another trip back to Coven. Twisty the Clown from Freak Show opens the preview, with Evan Peters appearing as Cult’s Kai Anderson, Jessica Lange returning as Murder House favourite Constance Langdon, Angela Bassett back as Marie Laveau and Emma Roberts once again playing Madison Montgomery. Rubber Man also makes an appearance before the teaser ends with Sarah Paulson’s Cordelia Goode facing a rather ominously cracking mirror.
When Is American Horror Story Season 13 Released in the UK?
American Horror Story: 13 premieres in the UK on Disney+ on Friday 25 September 2026, one day after its US debut on FX and Hulu on Thursday 24 September. All previous seasons of the anthology are currently available to stream on Disney+ UK, giving fans plenty of time for a rewatch beforehand.
The season will consist of 13 half-hour episodes. The first three episodes will arrive together on 25 September, followed by another three the following Friday. Two episodes will then be released each Friday, leading to the 13th and final episode on 30 October, just in time for Halloween.
Who Is Returning for American Horror Story Season 13?
This really is an AHS reunion. Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari and Jessica Lange are all part of the main cast.
The wider ensemble includes Avantika, Jamie Brewer, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Mena Suvari, Zach Villa and John Waters, among others.
Lange’s return is particularly big news for longtime fans. She last appeared in American Horror Story during Apocalypse and had largely stepped away from the franchise since, but Season 13 brings her back to revisit earlier characters. The teaser already gives us Constance Langdon, and Ryan Murphy has said Lange will portray all four of her iconic AHS roles.
Paulson and Peters will also be taking on several familiar roles. Murphy has described the season as bringing together characters from throughout American Horror Story rather than focusing exclusively on Coven, essentially turning the new instalment into one huge crossover between the anthology’s past stories.
One name fans will not see after all is Ariana Grande. The singer had originally been announced for Season 13 but later left the series because of scheduling conflicts with her Eternal Sunshine tour.
What Is American Horror Story Season 13 About?
FX is still keeping the central story deliberately mysterious. What has been confirmed is that several fan-favourite characters will return, including Constance Langdon, Cordelia Goode, Madison Montgomery, Marie Laveau, Rubber Man, Twisty the Clown and Kai Anderson, bringing together connections to seasons including Murder House, Coven, Freak Show and Cult.
Ryan Murphy has also teased Easter eggs from previous instalments throughout the sets, including original costumes brought back out of storage. Rather appropriately for the franchise’s 13th season, this appears to be a celebration of everything that has made American Horror Story such an enduring part of TV horror.
