Netflix has released the trailer for 72 Hours, a new comedy starring Kevin Hart as a 40-year-old executive who joins a wild Miami bachelor party in an attempt to save his career. The film premieres on Netflix on 24 July 2026.

Directed by Tim Story, whose previous credits include Barbershop and Ride Along, 72 Hours follows Hart’s character after he is mistakenly added to a group chat for a bachelor party. Rather than remove himself, he sees the mix-up as a chance to connect with a younger crowd and boost his professional standing.

“I’m in a random group chat with some guys planning their bachelor party,” Hart says in the trailer. “This is my opportunity to connect with the youth.” Naturally, that plan immediately appears to go very wrong.

The trailer teases three days of escalating chaos, with yacht parties, a South Beach party bus, run-ins with the law, cartel trouble and a particularly unfortunate jellyfish encounter that leaves Hart’s character with a badly swollen face. The trailer also leans into the age-gap humour between Hart’s character and the younger bachelor party crew, with Marcello Hernández joking that he had no idea Hart was “like, 50,” while Kam Patterson’s Freshman describes him as “like our friend, but he’s older than us, so he’s like our daddy.” Hart’s response says it all: “You’re not helping.”

Hart leads the cast alongside Marcello Hernández, Mason Gooding, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson, Zach Cherry, Teyana Taylor and Andy Garcia. Story has described Hart as the “greatest comedic partner” he has worked with, while also praising the younger cast for creating a believable sense of friendship on screen.

The film is written by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows, alongside Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, with Hart, Story, Will Packer, John Davis, Hurwitz, Schlossberg, Josh Heald, Luke Kelly-Clyne and Bryan Smiley among the producers.

For CultureCues, 72 Hours looks like Netflix aiming squarely for big, messy summer comedy energy, with Hart thrown into the exact kind of high-stress social disaster he can turn into a full-body meltdown. The added mix of SNL talent, Miami excess and bachelor party madness gives Netflix a very clear “press play and switch off” comedy for July.
