Prime Video has renewed Invincible for a sixth season before Season 5 has even premiered, while also confirming that The Boys star Jack Quaid has joined the voice cast. The announcements were made during the streamer’s first panel at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
Quaid will appear in Season 5 as Chris, also known as Gravitator. A first-look image of the character was revealed during the presentation. In the comics, Gravitator is a former criminal who begins working for the Global Defense Agency following an encounter with Mark Grayson.
Executive producer and co-showrunner Robert Kirkman announced the casting before confirming the early Season 6 renewal alongside Prime Video head of animation Melissa Wolfe. The renewal will make Invincible the streamer’s longest-running animated series to date.

Kirkman said one of the greatest rewards of developing the series has been seeing new audiences connect with its characters and world almost 25 years after the original comic was created. He credited the renewal to the continued support of fans and the teams bringing the series to the screen.
For CultureCues, renewing Invincible this far ahead shows just how much confidence Prime Video has in the series. Adding Quaid to an already stacked voice cast is another welcome development, particularly given his experience with animated superheroes and considerably less heroic characters. Mark Grayson’s problems certainly are not ending any time soon.
The first four seasons of Invincible are available to stream on Prime Video.
