Disney has released the first trailer for Hexed, an original animated adventure starring Hailee Steinfeld as an unconventional teenager who discovers that the things making her different may be connected to secret magical powers. The film will arrive exclusively in cinemas on 27 November 2026.
Steinfeld voices Billie Doe, an impulsive teenager who has always felt out of place in her ordinary suburban life. When she accidentally unleashes abilities she cannot explain, Billie is transported into Hexe, a hidden realm filled with wild magic and witches.

Rashida Jones voices Billie’s cautious mother Alice, while Disney has now announced that Tracey Ullman and Stephen Fry have joined the cast. Ullman plays Ms. Quill, an enchanted feather quill pen who greets Billie when she reaches Hexe, while Fry voices a magical journal named Elias Quire.
The trailer follows Billie as strange incidents begin happening around her, before her arrival in Hexe opens the door to a much bigger family mystery. As Billie learns more about her connection to magic, she uncovers long-held secrets that could change the witches’ world forever.
Director Fawn Veerasunthorn described Billie as someone who has always felt “miscast in her own life,” while co-director Jason Hand explained that Hexe is the first place where the teenager truly begins to feel seen.

For CultureCues, Hexed already has plenty going for it as Disney’s latest original animated adventure. The magical world appears full of personality, and Tracey Ullman and Stephen Fry feel like a brilliant pairing as Billie’s unusual new guides. Consider us ready to open the book and see where this spell takes us.
Directed by Veerasunthorn and Hand, with Josie Trinidad serving as co-director, Hexed is Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 65th animated feature and opens exclusively in cinemas on 27 November 2026.
