David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan, Jodie Whittaker and Jim Broadbent have joined the recurring cast of Only Murders in the Building Season 6. Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis and Kathryn Hunter have also boarded the comedy mystery as production continues in the UK.

The latest additions join an increasingly impressive British and Irish guest cast that includes Jennifer Saunders, Simone Ashley, Sharon Horgan, Martin Freeman, Geri Halliwell-Horner and Jamie Demetriou. Sean Teale, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Derek Jacobi and Lesley Nicol will also appear. Put simply, Season 6 has assembled an incredible cast.

Season 6 will take Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) beyond the United States, as the crime-solving trio travel from New York to investigate a new mystery in London.

The casting announcement was shared by the show’s official social media account with the message: “Keep calm and update the case file.” Details about the new characters are currently being kept under wraps, meaning any one of the new arrivals could become a suspect, victim or particularly suspicious London neighbour.

For CultureCues, this is seriously one of the most impressive TV line-ups we’ve seen in a long time. Tennant and Whittaker stepping into the same murder mystery has already made Season 6 one of our most anticipated returns, while Coughlan is exactly the kind of casting that leaves us even more curious about what the London case has in store.

The 10-episode sixth season does not yet have a confirmed release date. Only Murders in the Building will stream on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK and internationally.
