Season 2? We’ll drink to that! House of Guinness is officially coming back. Netflix has renewed Steven Knight’s 19th-century family drama for Season 2, with production set to begin in January 2027 and Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn, Fionn O’Shea and James Norton all confirmed to return.

The first season followed the Guinness siblings as they inherited the family brewing empire following the death of their father, Sir Benjamin Guinness, bringing together family rivalry, political ambition, romance and plenty of very complicated relationships. Season 2 will continue that story as Arthur, Edward, Anne and Benjamin grow older and the Guinness empire expands.

When Is House of Guinness Season 2 Coming Out?

Netflix has not announced a release date for House of Guinness Season 2, but filming is scheduled to begin in January 2027. That means there will still be a wait before we are back in Dublin, with more information on the release likely to follow once production is underway.

Creator Steven Knight said he was “beyond thrilled” to continue the story and wants to explore the characters and their relationships further as the family expands the Guinness empire. He has also described the series as being about a family growing up together, with Season 2 set to show what changes between them and what remains the same.

Who Is Returning for House of Guinness Season 2?

Anthony Boyle will return as Arthur Guinness, Louis Partridge as Edward Guinness, Emily Fairn as Anne Guinness and Fionn O’Shea as Benjamin Guinness. James Norton is also back as family fixer and brewery foreman Sean Rafferty, whose ties to the family became more complicated throughout Season 1.

Jack Gleeson, Niamh McCormack, Danielle Galligan and Ann Skelly are also confirmed to return. Netflix has not announced any new cast members yet, so there should be plenty more to come as filming gets closer.

What Could Happen in House of Guinness Season 2?

Season 1 ended on a huge cliffhanger. After the Guinness family came together to support Arthur’s political ambitions, Patrick Cochrane arrived at his rally intending to assassinate him, with the finale ending on the sound of a gunshot. Steven Knight has already teased that even he is wondering where that bullet is going, so finding out what happened will be one of the first big questions Season 2 needs to answer.

Beyond that, the new season will continue following Arthur, Edward, Anne and Benjamin as they deal with the responsibilities of the family business, their relationships and the pressure that comes with being part of one of Ireland’s most powerful families. Knight has said there are still plenty of stories to explore within the Guinness dynasty, describing the family as eccentric, wild and compelling across generations.

At CultureCues, we say yes, absolutely yes to more House of Guinness. We loved Season 1, and there was no way that ending could be the last we saw of this brilliantly messy family. Anthony Boyle and Louis Partridge were fantastic as Arthur and Edward, the entire cast brought so much Irish charm to the series, and James Norton’s Rafferty quickly became one of our favourites. We are very ready for more family drama, complicated romances, Guinness empire problems, and don’t even get us started on how much we need to find out what happened with that gunshot. We’re in. Pour us another Guinness.

House of Guinness Season 1 is available to stream now on Netflix. Season 2 begins filming in January 2027, with a release date still to be announced.
