Prime Video has released a new clip from Sterling Point, revealing a major family secret at the heart of the upcoming drama. Titled ‘My Mom’, the scene follows Annie Jacobson, played by Ella Rubin, after she arrives on the Canadian island inherited from her late grandfather. There, she confronts Ramona, played by Amélie Hoeferle, after noticing her resemblance to the mother Annie lost when she was young.
Annie asks why Ramona looks so much like her mother, only for Ramona to reveal that they share the same mum. The discovery confirms that the two young women are sisters and raises even more questions about why their family kept them apart for their entire lives. The revelation will form a major part of the eight-episode series as Annie and Ramona attempt to uncover the truth about their family, the island and the secrets hidden at Sterling Point. As the official tagline puts it: “A sister, a secret, and a summer they’ll never forget.”
The series follows 17-year-old Annie, who was raised in New York City with her twin brother and adoptive father. Her life changes when she inherits her grandfather’s Canadian island, bringing new friendships, summer romances and discoveries that challenge everything she believed about her past.

Rubin and Hoeferle lead the younger cast alongside Keen Ruffalo, Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Bo Bragason, Nikko Angelo Hinayo and Mabel Strachan. Jay Duplass, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Elle-Maija Tailfeathers and Missi Pyle also star.
Sterling Point was created by My Old Ass filmmaker Megan Park, who serves as director, co-showrunner and executive producer. Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage executive produce through Fake Empire, with Dani Gorin and Tom Ackerley representing LuckyChap.

The newly released scene follows the official trailer, which featured ‘Look at My Life’ from Gracie Abrams’ album Daughter from Hell. Together, the footage points towards a summer drama built around sisterhood, identity and the secrets families keep from one another.
For CultureCues, this new clip makes the central mystery even more interesting. Ella Rubin and Amélie Hoeferle already bring plenty of tension to the sister reveal, and learning that Annie’s entire family history may have been built around a secret gives the summer romance and island setting a much darker side. We need answers, and thankfully, the wait is nearly over.
All eight episodes of Sterling Point premiere globally on Prime Video on 5 August.
