House Gospel Choir have announced a headline show at Hackney Church on Saturday, 5 December 2026. Renowned for their electrifying live performances and distinctive fusion of gospel, house, soul and club culture, the choir will bring their signature energy to one of London’s most iconic venues.
Founded in London in 2014 by creative producer and vocalist Natalie Maddix, House Gospel Choir have redefined what a choir can be. Blending the euphoric spirit of gospel with the energy and unity of house music, the collective has built an unmistakable live experience across clubs, concert halls and festivals.
House Gospel Choir are now recognised around the world for their uplifting, high-energy performances, appearing at Glastonbury, BBC Proms, SXSW London, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Strictly Come Dancing, BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge and major festivals across Europe, Asia and Australia.
Their sound has also led to collaborations with some of the world’s biggest artists, including Harry Styles, Kylie Minogue, Rudimental, Nile Rodgers, Gregory Porter and Beverley Knight. Whether performing alongside global stars, headlining sold-out shows or taking centre stage at major festivals, House Gospel Choir bring the same joyful, soulful and completely immersive energy.
Beyond the stage, the collective has established itself as a recording artist in its own right. Their debut album, RE//CHOIRED, was released through Island Records, while second album Love Is the Message marked the beginning of a new independent era through founder Natalie Maddix’s label, Swear Down Music.
The London show follows another major year for House Gospel Choir. Alongside a packed summer of major festival appearances, House Gospel Choir joined Harry Styles for a series of extraordinary performances, including The BRIT Awards, One Night Only at Manchester’s Co-op Live and Meltdown Festival at the Southbank Centre with Jules Buckley and his Orchestra. Their independent releases continue to reach wider audiences, while sold-out headline shows and international touring have helped establish House Gospel Choir as a prominent contemporary live act.
At its heart, House Gospel Choir remains driven by the same mission that started it all: bringing people together through the transformative power of music. Every performance is an invitation to sing louder, dance harder and experience the joy of belonging in a room full of strangers.
For CultureCues, House Gospel Choir’s blend of gospel and house music was made for a live setting, and Hackney Church should provide a brilliant backdrop for this hometown celebration. After such a huge year for the collective, this already sounds like a special way to begin the festive season.
