Paramount+ has released the official trailer for Lioness Season 3, bringing Zoe Saldaña back as Joe ahead of the espionage thriller’s return on 2 August. The trailer shows Joe at the centre of her most dangerous mission yet, with national security compromised and the threat beginning to reach every part of her life.
“I’m a soldier. And a soldier’s job is to fight,” Joe tells her children before heading back into the field. The trailer then moves through battlefields and tense briefings as Secretary of State Edwin Mullins (Morgan Freeman) and CIA Deputy Director Byron Westfield (Michael Kelly) reveal the scale of the situation.
Nicole Kidman returns as Kaitlyn Meade, who warns Joe to assume that the enemy has access to her phone and everything connected to her. With hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals all closing in, Joe is forced to balance her duty to the Lioness programme with the danger now surrounding her family.
The new season follows the events of Season 2, which brought the CIA’s fight against terror closer to home and pushed Joe to confront the personal cost of leading the programme. Season 3 appears ready to take that pressure even further, with patterns emerging where they should not, names disappearing and enemies operating from the shadows.
Saldaña is joined by Kidman, Freeman and Kelly, alongside Laysla De Oliveira as Cruz. Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Genesis Rodriguez, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, Hannah Love Lanier and Ian Bohen also return.
Created by Taylor Sheridan, whose recent television work includes Yellowstone and Landman, Lioness is executive produced by Sheridan, Saldaña and Kidman, alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski and Keith Cox.
