Prime Video has renewed House Of David for a third season. The biblical drama, from Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios, stars Michael Iskander as David and follows his journey from outcast shepherd towards his destiny as king. The renewal keeps one of Prime Video’s major faith-based dramas moving forward, after Amazon said Season 1 drew 40 million viewers worldwide.
Season 3 will follow David through another defining chapter of his life. Before the throne, there is exile, with David forced to hide among his enemies as a hunted outlaw. The new season will explore the cost of his destiny, including the betrayals and sacrifices that come before his rise to power.
Series creators and executive producers Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn said they were honoured to share the next chapter alongside Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. They added that whether audiences know David’s story through Scripture or are coming to it from a fresh perspective, they hope the series continues to show why it has resonated across generations.
Alongside Iskander, House Of David stars Ali Suliman as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam and Stephen Lang as Samuel. The ensemble also includes Indy Lewis, Yali Topol Margalith, Ethan Kai, Sam Otto, Oded Fehr, Louis Ferreira, Davood Ghadami, Ashraf Barhom and Alexander Uloom.
The series is executive produced by Erwin and Gunn for Wonder Project, alongside Justin Rosenblatt, Gavin J. Behrman, Adam Abel, Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev and Erik Mountain. House Of David is produced by Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Nomadic Pictures and Argonauts, alongside Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate Television.
For CultureCues, this is a strong renewal for Prime Video. House Of David has clearly found its audience, and Season 3 sounds like it will take David into one of the most dramatic parts of his story. With exile, danger and the road to kingship ahead, there is plenty for the series to build on. For fans already invested in David’s journey, this is very good news.
