Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for Dune: Part Three, giving fans another look at Denis Villeneuve’s final chapter in his epic sci-fi trilogy. The film arrives in cinemas on 18 December 2026 and adapts Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, the sequel to the original Dune novel. While Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two followed Paul Atreides’ rise, Part Three will deal with the consequences of that power.

The new trailer finds Timothée Chalamet’s Paul ruling as Emperor, with the galaxy now living under the shadow of Muad’Dib. Zendaya also returns as Chani, who appears deeply at odds with the man Paul has become after promising he would never take power in her name.

Jason Momoa also returns as Duncan Idaho, while Florence Pugh is back as Princess Irulan and Anya Taylor-Joy appears as Alia Atreides. Robert Pattinson joins the franchise as Scytale, a new figure pushing for regime change and posing a major threat to Paul’s rule. The cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Charlotte Rampling, Isaach de Bankolé, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke.

The trailer makes clear that Paul’s rule has taken a sinister turn, with Duncan telling him he is “way beyond redemption.” From there, the footage widens into battle and rebellion. There are also glimpses of Robert Pattinson’s Scytale pushing for regime change, Chani preparing to summon a sandworm, Alia covered in blood and Paul facing the scale of what his power has created. The first two Dune films became huge critical and commercial successes, earning a combined $1.12 billion at the global box office and winning eight Oscars from 15 nominations. Both films were also nominated for Best Picture, making expectations for Part Three extremely high.

For CultureCues, the hype around Dune: Part Three is already huge, and this trailer makes it very easy to see why. The scale looks breathtaking and the cast is stacked. If Villeneuve sticks the landing, this could be one of the defining trilogy finales of the decade. No pressure, then.
