Shed Seven have announced a self-titled new album alongside the release of lead single “Stand Together” and an extensive UK and Ireland headline tour. The York indie band will release their seventh studio album, Shed Seven, on 8 January 2027 through Cooking Vinyl. The record follows a hugely successful period for the group and marks what they describe as the beginning of a new chapter.

“It’s without doubt our most ambitious record to date and the start of a brand-new chapter for the band, so if there was ever a time to make a self-titled album, this was it,” the band said while announcing the record.

Shed Seven explained that they entered the studio with renewed confidence following the success of recent years, challenging themselves creatively while ensuring the new material still sounded unmistakably like them.

“We honestly believe this is our best record yet, and we really hope these songs find a place in your hearts.”

The album announcement arrives alongside “Stand Together”, the first single from the record and an anthemic introduction to the band’s next era. Frontman Rick Witter described the song as both a statement of intent and “a call to arms”, with its message centred on unity. “It’s a rallying cry for some kind of unity in the world we live in today,” he said. “We have taken great care in making this album what we believe to be our best yet, and we hope these songs are taken to people’s hearts.”

Shed Seven will also celebrate the announcement with a special live-streamed acoustic performance from London’s 100 Club on 2 July. Later this month, the band will support Richard Ashcroft during his outdoor show at Englefield Estate before beginning their own headline run in October.

The tour will open at Belfast’s Mandela Hall on 23 October before visiting Dublin, Nottingham, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and several other cities. The run concludes with two nights at Leeds O2 Academy on 12 and 13 December.

The new record follows Shed Seven’s two 2024 albums, A Matter of Time and Liquid Gold, both of which reached Number One in the UK. A Matter of Time earned the band their first UK Number One album, while the success of both releases made Shed Seven one of a small number of acts to achieve two chart-topping records within the same calendar year.

For CultureCues, choosing a self-titled album at this point in their career feels like a confident statement about where the band are now, and there is something especially clever about their seventh record carrying the Shed Seven name. “Stand Together” begins the era with a suitably huge rallying cry, while the scale of the tour shows they have no plans to slow down. After two Number One albums in one year, the next chapter is already looking very promising.

Shed Seven will be released on 8 January 2027 through Cooking Vinyl. Pre-orders are available here.
