Blossoms have announced their sixth studio album, Songs From the Wedding Cake, alongside the release of new single “Meet Me in Love.” The record arrives on 2 October 2026 and follows 2024’s UK Number One album Gary, before the band head out on their biggest arena tour to date later this year.

“Meet Me in Love” features backing vocals from Declan McKenna and arrives with a music video starring Maya Jama and Callum Scott Howells. Directed by Blossoms frontman Tom Ogden, the video brings the pair together for a romantic dance sequence. The song was written during a trip to the Lake District with Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire. Ogden explained that it began with a simple two-chord disco groove on the final day of the writing sessions, before quickly developing into one of the album’s key tracks.

Produced by Shawn Lee, Songs From the Wedding Cake was recorded at Tilehouse Studios in Stockport. Its title comes from a local nickname for Stockport Town Hall, where Ogden married his wife, Katie.

Blossoms described the album as “an absolute joy” to make, with its songs finding meaning in the everyday details of relationships and growing older together. Across the record, those moments range from joking about divorce and falling asleep in taxis to dancing in the kitchen, crying at the Kardashians, scrolling through dog videos and the very real consequences of losing a partner’s 20-year no-claims bonus.

“What an absolute joy this record was to make. Written and recorded over the last year, it’s a collection of songs about what might seem like ordinary moments, viewed through an extraordinary lens.”

McKenna will appear again on “Additional Driver,” while the album trailer features The Inbetweeners star James Buckley. Blossoms have also teased appearances from Rick Astley and Inhaler frontman Elijah Hewson.

The ten-track album includes previously released single “Joke About Divorce,” alongside “Husband,” “The Kardashians,” “Uma Thurman” and closing track “The Deep End.”

Blossoms will begin their arena tour at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on 26 November, followed by London’s Alexandra Palace on 27 November and a hometown show at Manchester’s Co-op Live on 28 November. The tour continues at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on 4 December before ending at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 5 December. No Scotland, no party, as they say. The Royston Club will support across all five dates.

For CultureCues, Blossoms turning marriage, domestic life and an expensive insurance mistake into an album sounds completely on brand. “Meet Me in Love” offers an upbeat first taste of the record, while the move into arenas marks another major step for the Stockport band. Having caught them live a few times already, we are excited to hear the album in full and see them back on tour.

Songs From the Wedding Cake will be released on 2 October 2026. Fan presale for the UK tour begins at 9.30am on 24 June, followed by general sale at 9.30am on 26 June.
