Louis Tomlinson has released How Did I Get Here? (Extended Edition) on digital platforms, giving fans nine additional tracks to stream after several had previously been tied to deluxe physical editions and live teasing around his How Did We Get Here? Tour.
The extended version began rolling out at midnight local time on 1 May, adding a second disc of nine extra tracks: “The Observer”, “The Answer”, “All These Skies”, “Send Me Under (Demo)”, “Side By Side (Demo)”, “The Spark (Demo)”, “Sleepwalking (Demo)”, “Looks Like Lucy (Demo)” and “Save Me Time (Demo)”. The deluxe CD previously included “The Observer” and “The Answer”, while the digital deluxe listing also noted demo bonus tracks.

For fans, the biggest excitement is finally having these tracks available on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, especially after “The Observer” and “The Answer” became early favourites through the deluxe release and Louis’ How Did We Get Here? Tour. Both songs have been part of the tour setlist, with fans already singing and screaming them back at full volume, so it is fair to say they have been waiting, slightly impatiently, for them to hit streaming. I include myself in that, obviously.
The added tracks also bring an even more personal edge to the record, with Louis leaning further into the honesty and fan connection that have shaped this era. “Side By Side (Demo)” feels especially heartfelt, with its repeated “together, together” and “we’ll keep growing up side by side” feeling almost like a love letter to the fans who have grown alongside him. Even in demo form, the songs carry a clear sense of direction, making it feel like Louis has fully found the sound and voice that suit him best. These songs reveal a more raw and honest side of Louis, offering a more intimate glimpse into his writing and creative direction, and that is where he really shines.
