It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will return for Season 18 on 17 August 2026, bringing the Gang back to Paddy’s Pub. The new season will air on FXX in the US and stream on Hulu, while viewers here in the UK can watch through Disney+. FX has confirmed a 10-episode run, increasing the count from the eight-episode runs used for the previous three seasons. Charlie Day, Rob Mac, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito return as Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Dee and Frank.
Season 18 will see the Gang dealing with job losses caused by workplace automation, conspiracy theories and the growing public backlash against drinking. They will also attempt to salvage inheritances from a dead woman and sponsor a Little League team in an effort to improve their reputation.
FX has promised plenty of guest appearances, alongside references to Philadelphia traditions and classic television sitcoms. Despite the characters now reaching their 50s and 80s, their behaviour appears to be getting worse rather than improving. The series continues its run as the longest-running live-action comedy in television history, a record it claimed with its 15th season in 2021.
Season 18 is executive produced by Rob Mac, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Michael Rotenberg, Nicholas Frenkel, David Hornsby, Rob Rosell, Scott Marder, Dave Chernin, John Chernin and Vanessa McGee. FX Productions produces the series.
For CultureCues, it is always good news to be heading back to Paddy’s. Ten episodes gives them even more time to make terrible decisions, and the new storylines sound exactly as ridiculous as we would expect after 18 seasons. We will absolutely be watching. The Gang returns, and common sense leaves the building.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 premieres on 17 August 2026 on FXX and Hulu in the US, with the season available in the UK and internationally through Disney+.
